The Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes is the world’s largest gathering of puppeteers and object theatre makers that takes place every other year in Charleville-Mézières, France. Dutch Performing Arts supports five Dutch theatre companies who will perform at the festival.

The 19th "World Festival of Puppet Theatre" will be held from 16 to 24 September 2017. This showcase on the arts of puppetry receives approximately 150.000 visitors who are in search for new and different forms of expression. 110 companies from five continents will present their work, in an IN and in an OFF programme, also to be visited by many professonals from all over the world.

Within the IN programme Dutch Performing Arts supports five Dutch theatre companies, in a nice mixture of new and innovative and more traditional puppet theatre. Judith Nab will show her 'Le Grand Voyage' 15 times during the festival and after that, will tour the region. Both 'Babylon' by Stuffed Puppet Theatre and Ulrike Quade's last piece that she made with Jo Stromgren about the iconic fashion designer, Coco Chanel, have a French premiere, and can be seen twice. And finally one can visit the last works of 't Magisch Theatertje and Electric Circus.
